Can we Install ICS [Ice Cream Sandwich] on Galaxy Y ?

Can we install Ice cream sandwich on galaxy y

Can we install ICS in galaxy y ? – One of the most searched topic over google . Answer is ” YES ” , we can install Ice cream sandwich in Samsung Galaxy Y . Galaxy Y is one of the best and the cheapest android mobile in the market currently . It has all the good features like Wi-Fi,Bluetooth,3G,Acceleremeter and many others.

Galaxy Y has an 832 MHz processor and 290 MB of RAM , which operates its hardware with a nice speed and reliability.  Currently, Galaxy Y could only be updated to Gingerbread Version 2.3.6 Officialy , but you can install ice cream sandwich in it Unofficially also .

I hope many peoples are working together to create Galaxy y’s ICS kernel . After the creation of these kernel’s we can easily port galaxy Y to ICS [Ice cream Sandwich] .Though , few peoples also succesfully ported ICS in their Galaxy y , but they had problems like :

  • Faulty Voice
  • Incoming call problems
  • Bluetooth Not working
  • and etc etc.
We just need to wait for a proper time , when proper kernels become available publicly. I am sure Samsung wouldn’t give much time to Galaxy Y ICS update and unfortunately it may take years for ICS to be on Galaxy Y officially .
Sadly, no working kernels are available till today . But if you are searching for feel and look of Ice cream sandwich on your galaxy Y, then you may check out below ROM ‘s in your Samsung Galaxy y.

Hey! I like this topic. My phone is Samsung Galaxy Y. I want to upgrade it so that I can install more apps and games. But that’s the big problem. I can’t upgrade it yet since it’s not compatible for higher versions.

Hi! Is there any way to upgrade the Android version of Samsung Galaxy Y?

no. and there probably won’t be a way that will retain full functionality for long time – probably not ever. because new phones are constantly coming out, there is no incentive to expend developmental efforts on an old, entry-level model like Y.
